Eva Mach (born on October 20, 1993) is a young Croatian violinist described by music critics as “a violinist with a strong temperament and musicality, whose playing characterizes a wide dynamic range and complete dedication to music”. Her first violin lessons Eva received at the Rudolf Matz Music School in Zagreb and in regular private lessons with Professor Armin Sešek in Ljubljana. When she was 12, Eva began an intensive collaboration with the highly esteemed Professor Taras Petcheny, with whom she continued her studies at the Music Academy in Zagreb, where she earned her master’s degree in 2015. Throughout her education and studies, she has won numerous awards at national and international violin competitions, including the First Prize at the Premio Citta di Padova international competition in Italy and the D’Addario Prize Winner at the Malta International Music Competition in Malta. Eva has also participated in numerous masterclasses of renowned violin pedagogues such as Adam Korniszewsky (Belgium), Stefan Milenkovich (Italy), Christian Altenburger (Austria), Igor Petrushevski (UK), Violeta Smailovic Huart (France), Robert Szreder (Netherlands), Dora Schwarzberg (Austria), Salvatore Accardo (Italy), Vadim Gluzman (USA) and Anna Kandinsky (Austria). In addition to that, she has participated in the international projects: Euphony Youth Orchestra, Orchester des Jeunes de la Mediterranee and Kammerorchester der Bayerische Philharmonie under the direction of prominent world conductors such as Gianandrea Noseda and Alain Altinoglu.
In 2018, Eva successfully completed her second master’s degree at the Leopold Mozart Academy in Augsburg (Germany) under the guidance of Professor Petru Munteanu – the distinguished violin pedagogue and jury member in numerous international violin competitions. That same season (2017/18), she played as a member of the Rheinische Philharmonie (Koblenz, Germany) in the first violin section. In the fall of 2018, Eva enrolled in the prestigious Schola Cantorum in Paris to continue her postgraduate studies with Professor Violeta S. Huart. Upon completion, Eva received the Diplome de virtuosité with accolades from the jury. During her studies in Paris, she auditioned and became the deputy concertmaster of the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb, where she worked for the next three years. Since 2022, Eva has been performing as a soloist and member of various chamber ensembles throughout Croatia and abroad. She is also a permanent member of the Cantus ensemble for contemporary music and regularly holds masterclasses and workshops for young violinists.
